art glass polaroid: Dekalb Market
#artglasspolaroid is an original idea by Kathy Seff.
From Photo > to Sketch > to Ink Painted on Kiln Glass she makes, first hand cutting, then layering and finally firing at 1400F.
Who remembers Dekalb Market on Flatbush Ave in Brooklyn? A village of salvaged shipping containers that nearly overnight popped up on the corner of Dekalb & Flatbush. A showcase of works by local artists, designers, craftsman, bakers, dj's and more. Truly a unique and special place to gather, shop handmade, eat, hear beats, taste local beers, play and see art installations. It ran for about 2 years and was a favorite spot of the artist.
Finished glass is the size of Polaroid 600 film and created entirely in kiln-formed glass and hand painted by Kathy, with ink that is fired into the glass.
Hang on wall or window: Leather hanger with copper wire accents
Painted with water from the Great South Bay
